The Mészeg Hill, which rises on the border of Pákozd, has witnessed or been the scene of several war events in the last 400 years. In 1593, Pasha Hassans defeated Turkish army was defeated by Hungarian knights on the outskirts of the village, and on September 29, 1848, the first victorious battle of the War of Independence took place in the vicinity of Mészeg Hill. A II. in World War I, from 1944, the area housed a section of the Margaret Line. It was an important military site during the period of the Peoples Army, also in peacetime, as the Hungarian Peoples Army celebrated it here in 1951-91. between the Armed Forces Day.
The area hosting historical events still provides a worthy environment for its military past.
